I love dramatic flowers with deep rich colours and these ticked the box for me.

I’m still enjoying my new camera lens but haven’t taken the time to read either of the books I bought to help.

I’ve been knitting and stitching steadily of late and must say I’m enjoying it. I’m coping with the stitching as long as I don’t overdo things. Lets just say, I’m trying to be sensible so that my shoulder doesn’t get too irritated again.

This Lizzie Kate piece is a fun design to work on and I’ve made a little progress on it. I’ve been tempted by a couple of the new market releases, I’ll post pics of them when they arrive from America along with another sampler design that I ordered from Australia.

I finished putting this pair together at the weekend. I always put off doing the head and face to last as it’s so fiddly. It’s not easy to get the expressions just right and I can end up having several attempts before I’m happy.

The mouse didn’t quite end up the way it should have. I started the chosen pattern and wasn’t happy at all so made some changes to the shaping and finishing.

The title of today’s post was in reference to this little one who has been visiting today. I’m not really a fan of the grey squirrel but they do have a little of the cute factor and this one decided to pose happily for his/her photo shoot.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope all is well in your part of the world. Take care.

  1. Good morning, Ann! I love the intense colour of the anemone – just gorgeous. That’s some great new camera lens!

Lovely stitching and I love the latest two knitted buddies! Glad you are enjoying stitching and knitting these days. I’ve gone to a therapist who has given me some exercises to do which helps!

We have grey squirrels here as well as black ones. Naturally I like the grey better than the black as the latter always remind me somewhat of rats!

  2. Squirrels are a bother when you are trying to feed and attract birds. I like all the different fonts in your L*K stitch. Your latest knitted creatures are adorable. Their faces and expressions are what make them ‘pop’… worth working on that part until you get it right, which you certainly did. Your camera – wow some interesting ways of looking at flowers.

  3. Wow!! Those photos are amazing and intense. I could wrap myself up in that colour and be happy for the rest of my days. You’ve got a great lens there Ann. It must be fun getting up so close to objects that are “normal” and make them unusual and interesting up close! Great progress so far on your LK. Sweet little mice too you made. The little visitor is cute! I love squirrels!!

  6. What a stunning flower! The color is so intense and the petals look so velvety. I love your L*K progress. They are such fun designs to stitch on when life is hectic. I think your mice look great! They seem difficult to make but the effect is totally worth the effort. 🙂

  7. Your knitting and stitching are both fabulous! Love your flower pics — so beautiful! We have tons of squirrels around here. Not sure what I would think if I didn’t see a squirrel outside.
