Autumn Abounds

October 21, 2014  |  Featured Posts

This month has brought autumn with a blast to where I live. Today it’s pretty windy and the leaves are literally everywhere. These words sum it up……….

“I love the fitful gust that shakes
The casement all the day,
And from the glossy elm tree takes
The faded leaves away,
Twirling them by the window pane
With thousand others down the lane”
John Clare

Our two cats are fascinated by them twirling about outside every window.

The last two photos made me smile, I couldn’t quite think of an appropriate caption for them.

Since my last post I’ve been under the weather twice with viruses and busy in my role of caring for my mum.
I have managed some knitting, crochet and ….. wait for it…..some stitching – at last!

I’ve not finished any toys but Fred and Mabel did find a home together. I’m trying some new things out which takes a lot of time but it’s fun to do.

On the stitching front I’ve bought quite a few new designs and also quite a few older ones. I’ve made a start on two but don’t have enough to show a photo. One of them is Miss Isabelle ……… I couldn’t resist her.

The other is a Norah Corbett design which is a total change of style for me. It made me think of Jeremy the Crow from The Secret of NIMH who loves “sparklies” – I must be in the mood for some sparkle and colour and this design just drew me to it with all the beads and treasures included.

So much so that I bought this one as well………

I’ve also bought a couple of kits to make up a pin cushion and the lid insert of the new Liberty Hill box. I have the Berries and Pyn box from years ago which is the same shape and size so couldn’t resist the new one.

I’ll leave you today with a photo of Brandy who tells me that he doesn’t get nearly enough “air time” on this blog.

I hope all is well in your part of the world, take care and thanks for stopping by.
