Scotland on a Saturday.

As you can see from the above image, our weather is still damp and miserable.  I took this photo on the way into Edinburgh early this morning.  You can see the Pentland Hills in the distance and the cloud cover is very low.

It was a very quick visit so I didn’t have time to stop and take photos so I took another two from the car.  You can see the back of the castle in these two.

I’ve made a little progress on Matthew’s Doctor Who scarf, it’s great when you want to sit down and “switch off” as you don’t have to think about what you are doing.

When I was tidying up earlier this little puss came to see what I was doing but as soon as she sees the camera she quickly disappears.  I don’t know why she is so afraid of it.

Camera Shy!

I bought some bits and pieces this last week – I’m ashamed to admit that there’s even more than I have shown above – the turtle is a measuring tape and the little Just Nan box is for knitting orts.

Swarovski Pencils.

I couldn’t resist these Swarovski Ice pencils this morning – each one features Swarovski elements.

Thanks for popping in to visit today for your recent comments.  Take care and stop by soon.

PS  JUST FOR FUN.  If anyone leaves a comment on this post, I will draw names on Monday evening and will send one of the Swarovski pencils to each of the first two names out of the proverbial hat.

  1. Have you been watching Case Histories on Sundays/Mondays with Jason Isaacs? It’s set in Edinburgh and the scenery was just gorgeous. I visited once or twice and it’s a beautiful city. The Doctor Who scarf is looking good so far. I’ve just bought a really cute T-shirt with owls on – each of the owls represents one of the Eleven Doctors and number 4 has the obligatory scarf 🙂

  2. What a gorgeous cat. What kind of cat is it?
    Love your pictures from Scotland.
Your scarf looks already great. And your new buys are great too. These pencils are so cool

  3. ‘morning,Ann. ‘morning Scotland! I love seeing your photos. Sorry it’s grey and wet. We’ve had rains (yesterday our deck was a pool for awhile) in the mornings then some sun in the afternoon. It’s very weird weather.

The scarf is coming along nicely. I like the goodies you bought, particularly the colours of the pink and green yarns. Awww, your kitty is camera shy – well, maybe next time!

  4. Oh dear Ann, your weather looks like ours!

What a shame your kitty runs from the camera. I am lucky with mine they don’t run when I get my camera out, sometimes it is almost like they pose. lol

The Dr Who scarf is coming along well. Looks like you got some nice new stash and bits and bobs too.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

  5. Oh, a Dr Who scarf! 😀 And what is that cool object with the llamas on it next to the scarf? Some sort of measuring device?

Our kitties also pose for the camera, though Spin usually blinks just as the shutter goes, so he looks sort of dim-witted. 😉

  6. I like that needle guage measure thing too. Almost as much as the pencils!! You are sounding much brighter today Ann, and the weather is set fine too. A bit of sunshine brightens all our lives and warms the cockles!! Love Irene xxx

  7. What a gorgeous scarf! I like your llama gauge too. I hope your weather gets better – it’s hot and stuffy here, not sure which is preferable 🙂
