New Beginnings

January 4, 2017  |  Featured Posts

A regular visitor to our garden these days.

I thought I’d drop by with a quick post for the new year. My life is currently dominated by work and my role as a carer but I’ve still been crafting and dropping in on the odd blog or two in between.
I haven’t picked up cross stitch in a long time but have turned my attention to sewing which is very odd as I’m not a seamstress by any stretch of the imagination.

These birds are evolving each time I make one – I’ve since finished another one which I’ll show next time.

After making the mohair mouse I decided to have a go at making a wool teddy bear. Working with the wool was much easier on the hands as the needle glides through the fabric with little resistance.
WDW wool is ideal for this type of project.

Knitting has taken a back seat since I started to sew a little and the last thing I finished was Mickey – he was a challenge to photograph due to the black yarn.

I hope this coming year is a more settled one the world over. I’ll leave you with a photo of little Rosa.
Thanks for stopping by and take care.

  1. Hello, Ann!

Happy New Year! I’ve been thinking about you but as usual, not gotten around to sending you an email. Nice to see your post and your lovely makes. It’s good to get into new crafts. I didn’t think I would be sewing again if not for my mom asking me to do some hemming for her!

I love your wool teddy bear! It’s so gorgeous. What pattern is it? I know you are busy but glad to see you still get a bit of time to do some crafting for yourself.

  2. I adore those birds…is the pattern available? The teddy is so cute and you are doing well with the sewing. Wishing you a good new year and more time for yourself.

Your teddy bear and sweet birds are adorable. And I love your British robin–so much cuter than our American robins 🙂 I’m sure he brings a smile each time he visits!
